The Future Dr. Brown

Alayna got a little Doctor kit when she was born and we just got it out and she loves to play with it. Here is baby Emily getting a shot and being listened too.

Dad had a stomach ache so Alayna was "rubbing the medicine in".

Having a listen to make sure Dad is okay. Alayna thought there was a spider on Coby's chest - I was laughing so hard - it was just a little bit of hair.

I just wanted to also tell everyone thanks for your love and prayers - it meant so much too me. I am feeling much better now - the cramping and bleeding lasted a lot longer than I was expecting - but everything is all cleared up now! The doctor told me I'd quit bleeding if I would just lay down - but honestly who can do that with a toddler running around!

Aching Arms

Well I debated whether or not to post anything on my blog - but in the end I decided too...This last week I went to my first doctor's appointment because we were going to have another baby. The doctor couldn't find the baby's heartbeat and so we did an ultrasound...I should have been about 10 weeks along and the baby was measuring 6 weeks and didn't have a heartbeat. Needless to say I was a bit shocked and taken by surprise at what was happening. I couldn't really register everything the doctor was saying. Later it came together -when he told me that I needed to have some blood tests to see if the baby was still growing or had stopped. We got the results back and the baby wasn't living anymore - so we scheduled a D & C - which I had yesterday. The D & C went really well and I am feeling much better today now that the anesthesia has worn off - the worst part was trying to get an IV in my stubborn veins - and when they put me to sleep - the anesthesiologist injected the medicine into my veins and said it would burn - well that was an understatement - I felt like my arm was on fire and that I could somehow relate to Bella -anways... This last week has been really emotional and my arms ache for the baby I will never hold... how grateful I am for the plan of salvation and my temple marriage - I pray continually that I will be able to hold this baby someday. The baby was due October 6.

Ready, Set, Play!

This last weekend we went to south to spend the weekend with Coby's family.
It snowed twice, so we escaped to St. George -and Brayden and Alayna were so excited to play in the nice weather at the park.

Alayna was fearless - she wanted to do everything that Brayden did.

Alayna was so excited to make cookies - she got a little impatient licking the beater and did go straight to digging in with her hands.

We went to the zoo a couple of weeks ago and Alayna's new found love is the carousel - so she chose to ride "Marty" the zebra. (Marty is the zebra on Madagascar)

Last weekend Coby's family came to visit us. We were so excited to have them here with us...we all went to the Draper Temple Open House and enjoyed the beautiful temple and the wonderful spirit that was there. We also had a big family dinner - here is Alayna eating dinner with all of her cousins and 2nd cousins.

Aunt Kasey took Alayna on the carousel at the mall and she loved it - as you can see - the look of pure joy!

Love is in the Air!

I just wanted to quickly write about Alayna's Valentine's Day surprise...to start off with last week I got strep throat really bad and was quite sick for a most of the week. So Coby and I had to postpone V-Day plans to a later date...Coby was very nice thoughtful and got me a few things and took really good care of me! Anyways, Monday through Friday I make an appointment for Alayna to go to the Day Care at the Gym so I can work out. She loves going and playing with the kids for an hour - and I love the hour I get alone to work up a sweat! So there is this boy that is only a couple of weeks older than her named "Tanner" that she adores. They play a lot together and Alayna always is talking about him and when she gets to go play with him. Since I was sick last week, we didn't go to the gym on Thursday or Friday. So when we went to the gym yesterday she had the Valentine that she had scribbled on to give to Tanner. She was so excited to give it to him...but when we walked in I sent her in and was watching her and she walked up to him and he was holding hands with another girl - she tried to give him the Valentine, but he didn't take it - SO SHE THREW IT AT HIM! I was laughing so hard. Anyways, I leave and go work out and when I get back I am informed that Tanner and Alayna have kissed three times on the lips - I was speechless....they are both 20 months old! Needless to say, I didn't think my 20 month old little girl would be so little when she got her first kiss....Frankly, it scares me!

Nemo & "Nice"

Alayna loves to sit or lay in front of the vent when the heat comes on. She alway says - "oh, nice...nice....warm." We just have to laugh because she loves it so much!
I've tried to think of the funny things Alayna is always saying because she has so many...but here are a few of my favorites -
*"Oh, Goodness!" - Alayna says this everytime she drops something or spills something - most of the time whatever she does is intentional, but she always looks at me with an innocent face!
*"One more, ehMehN!" - Alayna says this whenever she wants a treat - namely, her favorite treat - M&M's - while she is saying it, she always puts one finger in the air.
*"Party, mom!" - I hear this a lot! It means I want to have a tea party with mom.
*"Elmo" - Alayna used to say this when she would want oatmeal for breakfast - her favorite breakfast food - but now she can say oatmeal pretty clearly.
*"Lellie" or "Lella" - is our new favorite movie Cinderella - which we seem to be watching a lot these days.

Alayna was just to cute as she was napping the other day - she loves to sleep with Emilie - her baby "Melie - by you" (thats what she tells me when she wakes up and is so excited to see that Emilie slept by her.)

We took our first trip to the Aquarium on Saturday - and it was $8 a person to get in or you could buy a pass for a year for $15 - so we bought the year pass and will probably be going to the Aquarium a lot - Alayna loved it!

Alayna's favorite thing to do was splash her hands in the sting ray petting pool.

Of course, we got to see "Nemo" which was very exciting!

This tank had lots of frogs in it - and Alayna stood there for a couple of minutes saying, "Ribbit, ribbit, ribbit..." It was really funny!

The sting ray didn't quite get close enough for us to touch it, but Alayna got really excited when they would swim by - she kept saying "touch, touch". She was brave enough to put one finger on a starfish.

We'll probably be going back sooner than later!
