My Pigtail Princess and the Pink Piggy Pinata Party

Can't seem to get a smile out of her these days...

I loved the look of this simple hairdo!

Coby had the fabulous idea of making a pinata - Alayna loved it and Coby got to do clean-up after!

The final product!

Swing away!

Today

So Alayna decided a couple of months ago that she is done taking a nap...we tried everything...but it was just time - I have never seen Alayna fall asleep watching TV, or anything - and today she fell asleep sitting up at dinner - we were laughing so hard. She was beyond out.

This is what happens after a crazy weekend with too much fun!

Today - I found this chair up against Benson's crib...

and "snuggies" - going on inside the crib!

Our Golden "Son"

I love his smile - it melts me - I will seriously do anything to make him smile/laugh...

So serious...

A little fuzzy, but I tried to take probably ten pics of us together - so this is what you get...

We tried rice cereal for the first time the other day - Benson didn't like it very much - so we will try again in a couple of weeks...

BitterSweet

Today I tried to be a bargain shopper - something I'm not very good at, but am trying to work on...and I think I did pretty good. I organized my coupons and went to Smith's since they were having a coupon promotion - and got all of this stuff for $44 (everything had at least a $1 off coupon)- and got a $4 certificate to spend on my next purchase...so I had several free items...the Suddenly Salad (2) and a deodorant. Then several things were super cheap - pasta $.27, Shaving cream $.36, and yogurts $.27. Most stuff was around a dollar - and I got two packs of diapers - each $4.50!!! Then when I got home I realized I was a coupon failure because 3 of my coupons were still in my envelope...I was so sad I could have saved $3 more dollars!! Oh well...I did however go back and buy 4 more packs of diapers because you can't pass up $4.50 for a pack of diapers! So overall a good shopping trip - I saved way more than I spent!

Today Alayna found and picked up a worm all by herself and packed it around - while holding her wiggly worm she said, "My worm is making me nervous, nervous, nervous."

This morning the whole family was in our bed and Alayna was blowing on Benson's belly - and she said, "Ewwww Benson - that was a mudslide."
Alayna is so funny and witty - she has us laughing all the time!

We were playing a game a couple of nights ago - and it was so cute how Benson was helping me hold the cards and he was staring so intently...

Alayna loves to help (sometimes too much!), but if she continues to "love" cleaning toilets for the next 15 years- she will be her mothers favorite child!

Sometimes...

Sometimes - you can get a cute picture with 4 wiggly grandkids...

Sometimes - it isn't worth the effort...

Sometimes - it is...

We are so excited - they will be back to visit in a week!!!

4 Months!

I can't believe it has been over 4 months since Benson came into our lives...it is so amazing to watch a baby grow and change so fast in such little time.
Benson is a kind of a Momma's boy - which I love and nobody else does...he is most of the time pretty good about letting people hold him and play with him, but if its been very long he fusses until I take him for a few minutes and he has a few "mommy minutes".
Benson is getting really good at grasping and holding things.
Benson is very vocal and loves to talk and make funny noises - he gets really excited if whoever is holding him makes funny noises too.
Benson is a pretty good sleeper at night - he sleeps about 11-12 hours and eats once about 4:00am and goes right back to sleep...he is not a good daytime napper he usually doesn't sleep for longer than 15-30 minutes at a time (which drives me crazy!!) , occasionally he sleeps for an hour and rarely two...(right now is one of those rare moments!!)
Here are Benson's 4 Months Stats:
Weight: 15 lbs 13 oz. (69th Percentile)
Height: 25.6 in (73rd Percentile)
Head: 16.7 in (49th Percentile)
We love Benson so much and are so glad that Heavenly Father sent him to us - so he can be part of our family!

We love...

Benson's super chubby cheeks!
Benson loves to have something to play with all the time...it is so cute to watch him hold onto things and figure out how his hands work.

Tubbies!!

Togetherness Time.
Alayna is not a doll player in the least...so when I asked her what she was doing and she told me she was nursing her goat...I had to chuckle...because goats have to eat too!

Our new stroller!!
We love it!! We have taken it for walks and even jogs before the weather took a turn for the worst last week. We are hoping for warmer days this week so we can take it our some more.

Spring and the beautiful flowers - Alayna has taken a special interest in watching the flowers grow and change - and she really loves to water our plants and flowers.

Independence!
We got a suitcase out and put it in Alayna's room while we were packing to go spend the weekend with Grandpa Brad and Grandma Kelli - and Alayna packed her suitcase all by herself...every single stuffed animal and pair of panties that she owns - thats all you really need, huh?!

A Peek at our Sunday...

Today was a great day - I have so many pictures to post and updates to do, but they will just have to wait because I wanted to blog about today...Benson is officially 4 months old...I can't even believe it - where does the time go. He was busting out of his church outfit today - so I tried this new outfit on - it was a little big, but he looked so handsome! He is so cute - he melts me heart everyday!

Today we celebrated Grandpa Lloyd's birthday - we had a great time together with all of the family. We tried to get a picture of the Grandkids - but it was a cold and kind of hard to get everyone to cooperate.

You get lots of love and attention when it is your special day and Grandpa wouldn't have it any other way!

The Stawberry Short"cake" that Grandma made was delicious!
Today while everyone was bustling around getting ready for the birthday party -Itzy, Grandpa Lloyd and Grandma Linda's dog, who was 17 years old died in her sleep. So we also had a little funeral...

Alayna thought it was the neatest thing to be able to "drive" the motorhome. She played nonstop with all the cousins and had a great day!
