Just the Boys!

When we went to visit Coby's family last weekend - we got a four generation picture - all of the "Thomas Brown's" - we have Benson Thomas Brown, Dad - Coby Thomas Brown, Grandpa - Bradley Thomas Brown, and Great-Grandpa Richard Thomas Brown.

Adventures!

Everytime we come home from the Stewart's house - we see this giant dinosaur and Alayna tells us that she wants to go there - so we finally went with Grandma and Kali!

Alayna loved it all! There were so many fun things to do and see - we were there for three hours!

Alayna loved this little Dinosaur land - that you could play with the sand, running water, trees, and dinosaurs. In fact - she loved it so much - she forgot to tell me she had to go to the bathroom until pee was running down her legs...

Alayna also got to design a dinosaur by picking legs, tail, head - ect... - here she is - I didn't have a spare pair of pants because we haven't had an accident in a very long time...Poor Alayna.

We went to the mall and they finally had the fountain filled back up with water - so Alayna threw everyones change into the water.

And you can't leave the mall until we ride the carousel...Alayna even patiently waited a whole extra turn so she could have the dragon - her very favorite.

We tried to take some picture of Benson, but he thought he was so hungry that he either was searching for food or eating his hand.

After FHE last night, Alayna was wild (as always at bedtime) - but here she is singing Book of Mormon Stories.

Daddy Kiddie Cuddle Time!

Benson is all boy - notice his sideburns (that he has had since day 1) that go halfway down his ear.

Last Sunday when Alayna went to church with Coby - we packed her a bag to take that had a few snacks and books. As they were leaving she said, "I've got my carpet bag." Coby was confused and she told him, "This is my carpet bag - like Mary Poppins dad." We laughed - and then yesterday she took everything out and was trying real hard to reach her whole arm in there and pull out something else - like a lamp... ?

Here is Alayna talking to Grandma...she is so funny because she doesn't want to hold the phone with her hand and since she can't hold it with her shoulder like mom does - she holds it with her arm...I also love this bizarre face I caught on camera!

Alayna got a goose egg last night from trying to crawl under her bed in the dark - need I say more?!

This Season is Over...for the Zucchini

The Zucchini War for this season is officially over...Coby won (I think) - or got the last laugh by cooking stuffed zucchini for dinner and serving it to his dad when they came to visit!

I lost track of how many times this zucchini exchanged hands...

Aunt Juli hasn't changed a diaper since her babysitting days...so when Benson did a little squirt in her arms and Juli needed my help with Calculus 3(which we both secretly love) I told her I would only help if she changed him...it was pretty tramatic for her - she barely remembered what to do!

Finally An Update!

Today we went to Benson's two week check-up and he is growing like crazy he weighs 8'11.5'' and is 21.5'' long. The doctor said he looks great! I am so lucky and blessed to have such a good newborn. He eats well and sleeps for about 3 hours at a time at night. Benson brightens our home with his presence.

Right now -Benson doesn't enjoy a sponge bath at all- we are all anxiously awaiting the day his cord falls off - so he can have a real tubby!

To chase away cold nights - we love to build a fire...Alayna is Dad's number one helper and crumples newspaper and hands him tiny logs - then she basks in the warmth forever...

Alayna was supposed to be eating lunch before she could have chips, but while I was tending to Benson - she took matters into her own hands and decided to crawl out of her chair across the counter and eat chips first!

I finally realized that I could get the pictures off my camera by putting my memory card in the computer(thanks Kali). So here is Benson right after he came out...in all his purple-faced glory!

Alayna didn't get to come in and see baby Benson, but she did get to see him through the window - she is anxiously waiting for him to come home (and mom and dad).
